Open-Air Double Decker Island Tour
St. Maarten is two countries on one island, and this open-air double-decker covers both. Starting in Philipsburg, the Dutch-side capital, the route crosses into the island's countryside before arriving in Marigot, where the French-side capital's waterfront, open-air markets, and sidewalk cafés make for a distinctly European stop in the middle of the Caribbean. The Causeway Swing Bridge follows, with views over Simpson Bay Lagoon where sailboats and mega-yachts share the water. Topper's Rum Distillery provides a tasting of several local rum varieties before a panoramic lookout at Bell's Point frames the full island below. Dutch cheese at Old Amsterdam Cheese rounds out the flavors before the bus returns to Philipsburg.
