Rural Culture and Estate Tour
From first sip to final bend, this journey brings rural Jamaica to life. The Discover Jamaica film and an Appleton Estate rum tasting set the story in motion before a rugged safari truck carries you into the hills. At Culture Yaad, a local farmer’s homestead, paths wind past ackee, sweetsop, and soursop trees as farm animals roam nearby and lemongrass iced tea comes with stories of the land. From there the truck carries you through sweeping countryside, past small communities and the remains of the property's sugar estate past: an old windmill, factory ruins, the Blue Hole Estate Great House, and the donkey holding area. Your guide ties each piece together into a picture of rural Jamaica few visitors ever see.
