New Lineup for Islander and Beachcomber Features First-Ever Visits to Costa Rica and Panama, Specialty Voyages and Holiday Escapes
MARGARITAVILLE AT SEA UNVEILS 30 ITINERARIES VISITING 25 DESTINATIONS IN 2028
ORLANDO, Fla. (Oct. 1, 2026) – Margaritaville at Sea is charting more ways to find paradise in 2028, unveiling 30 distinct itineraries visiting 25 destinations, including two new-to-brand ports of call and a collection of specialty sailings and holiday escapes. The new lineup builds on the company’s growing fleet and expanded homeport presence, with Islander sailing from Tampa and Beachcomber bringing a new generation of Margaritaville at Sea adventures to Galveston following its 2027 debut in Miami.
For the first time, Margaritaville at Sea will call on Limón, Costa Rica, and Colón, Panama, with Islander visiting both destinations on new eight-night voyages from Tampa. Limón serves as a gateway to Costa Rica’s lush rainforests, abundant wildlife and Caribbean coastline, while Colón opens the door to Panama’s tropical landscapes, rich culture and the iconic Panama Canal. The itineraries also include a call in Grand Cayman and four days at sea, giving guests ample time to explore Islander between destinations.
“We’ve built our 2028 lineup around the idea that no two escapes have to look the same,” said Christopher Ivy, Chief Executive Officer of Margaritaville at Sea. “Whether guests want to discover a place they’ve never been, celebrate a holiday at sea, enjoy great music or simply spend a few days somewhere warmer, this schedule gives them more choices and plenty of reasons to come back and experience something different. These unique itineraries are designed for guests who want to experience the authentic Caribbean and explore beyond it.”
The 2028 lineup pairs these new destinations with returning guest favorites including Key West, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Belize, Roatán, Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, Bimini, Nassau and Progreso.
Among the standout 2028 sailings:
- Laissez les Bons Temps Rouler: Mardi Gras Returns – Following its first-ever Mardi Gras visit in 2027, Islander will return to New Orleans for the 2028 celebration with an overnight stay in the Crescent City, giving guests more time to experience the parades, beads, brass bands and unmistakable energy of Mardi Gras. The special sailing brings together one of New Orleans’ most celebrated traditions with the laid-back Margaritaville lifestyle for a memorable escape from Tampa.
- Sail the Haunted Seas Returns with an Entirely New Journey – Back for its third year, Islander’s signature Halloween voyage takes a new turn in 2028 with an overnight stay in New Orleans. Sailing from Tampa, the special Halloween and Día de los Muertos itinerary gives guests more time to experience the Crescent City’s legendary mystery and after-dark energy before continuing to Progreso, Mexico, for the color, culture and traditions of Día de los Muertos. Three full sea days complete the journey.
- More Adventure from Texas – Beachcomber will expand the possibilities from Galveston with new itinerary combinations, including a Mexico trio featuring Cozumel, Progreso and Veracruz. The new voyages give Texas cruisers even more ways to explore aboard the biggest ship in the Margaritaville at Sea fleet.
- International Parrothead Day in Key West – Islander will channel the ultimate island state of mind on a special five-night sailing to Key West and Bimini departing June 25, 2028. Timed around International Parrothead Day on June 28, the voyage brings together legendary island culture, tropical destinations and plenty of opportunities for Parrotheads to flock together at sea.
- Special Holiday Sailings Year Round – The 2028 calendar gives guests new reasons to trade the everyday for an escape. Sail into St. Patrick’s Day in Key West, turn Mother’s Day into a five-day getaway to Key West and Cozumel, wake up somewhere warmer for Memorial Day and Father’s Day, or kick off a Fourth of July escape sailing from Tampa.
- More Music on the Horizon – Leaning into Margaritaville’s musical DNA, Margaritaville at Sea will turn up the volume in 2028 with additional music-focused specialty sailings featuring chart-topping artists and exclusive performances at sea. More details and artist announcements will be revealed in the months ahead.
