Shark Encounter & Snorkel Experience

Things You Should Know

  • Minimum age of 10 years to participate in the Shark Encounter
  • Guests ages 10–12 must be accompanied in the water by a ticketed parent or guardian participating in the Shark Encounter (minimum age 18)
  • Guests ages 13–17 must be accompanied on the island by a parent or guardian with a ticket to any program
  • Minimum height of 48 inches to participate in the Shark Encounter
  • Roundtrip ferry ride to and from Blue Lagoon Island.
  • Program times are assigned at check-in
  • All guests are required to complete a waiver prior to check-in; parents must complete for minors
  • No drones, scuba equipment, or metal detectors allowed on the island
  • No outside food or drinks permitted on the island
  • Blue Lagoon Island reserves the right to refuse service to any guest under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs
  • Blue Lagoon Island reserves the right to omit specific behaviors or interactions from the animal programs under certain conditions

  • Freshwater showers and full restroom facilities available
  • Water shoes are required to participate in the Shark Encounter

  • Guests must be able to go up and down ladders and stairs to access the platform
  • Pregnant women are not permitted to participate in the Shark Encounter
