French Quarter Bar Crawl
The French Quarter is the heart of New Orleans, and the best way through it involves stopping regularly. Your guide leads you on foot past the French and Spanish architecture that gives the Quarter its distinct look, with an hour at each of three bars along the way, starting with Maison Bourbon. Jean Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop follows, widely considered the oldest bar in the American South and still lit largely by candle. The crawl finishes at Pat O'Brien's, home of the original flaming fountain and the birthplace of the hurricane. A cocktail comes with every stop, but the real draw is three landmarks that each earned their reputation a different way, strung together by the streets between them.
